1.Gary Carter: Variations in myofascial slings and continuities

The Myofascial Meridians proposed through the seminal work of Thomas Myers created a ground-breaking view of the Body and its possible connectivity in continuities throughout our structure.

The insightful works of both Raymond Dart and Kurt Tittel have also shown elegant Sling arrangements in terms
of Muscular and fascial forces throughout the body in movement and sport.

By employing the same methodology proposed by T. W. Myers in dissections, we will now see a series of Myofascial Slings and connections, as proposed at the Fascia research Summer school and from findings of up to 12 years of Dissective research from the labs of the Institute of Anatomy in Vienna to the UK labs of Julian Baker,

These Myofascial Slings and continuities open up different possibilities for movement teachings and practices.

Gary has over 30 years of experience in movement physical training, anatomical study and bodywork .

A background in athletics, competition cycling, bodybuilding, martial arts, yoga and manual therapies, led him to create NaturalBodies in 1992 to teach, train, encouraging kinesthetic awareness, efficient body use in exercise, sport and many movement disciplines.

Hosting Tom Myers for the first ground-breaking Anatomy Trains courses from 1999 to 2004 and after graduating in KMI in 2001 Gary co taught with Tom on Anatomy Trains courses in the UK and USA.

Over the past 15 years he has lectured in Movement and Fascial Anatomy for Yoga, Pilates, Dance, Martial Arts teacher trainings, massage schools and Physiotherapists, around the UK and Ireland.

He ran the Science of Movement course at Middlesex University from 2007 to 2011.  Studied Dissection at the Institute of Anatomy in Vienna with Todd Garcia, and continued studies with Gil Hedley, he runs Dissective studies for student teachers of his Anatomy of movement courses alongside Julian Baker.

He has run several yoga teacher trainings and continues to run his highly acclaimed Myofascial Anatomy for yoga and Pilates courses in England, Scotland, Ireland and Europe, and is now training a team of teachers to run these courses in Europe and U.K

2.Allissa Harter: Fascia: where it lives and what lives in it.

This lecture will present a unique view of the fascial web under the skin and between the organs and present key visual aids from researchers, medical doctors, scientists, and others.

The lecture will provoke the audience through awe and possible disgust to question and view the fascia and extracellular matrix as a living organism in its own dimension.

More than 4,000 years ago, the theory of the four humors of the human body (black bile, yellow bile, phlegm, and blood) dominated Egyptian thought. It passed into Greek, Roman, and Islamic medicine and eventually became the underpinning of Western medicine until the mid-19th century.  (Muetter Museum in Philadelphia)

I grew up being told facts.  As I grew up, these facts became myths.  The reason facts become myths is because there is someone or many someone’s asking questions.  Really?  Are we certain?  How can that be?   Let us test the facts!

Elon Musk’s 1st Principles Analysis: Take the most fundamental truths in a particular arena, almost indisputably correct, reason up from there to a conclusion.  And if one sees that the conclusion is at odds with most opinion, then one has an opportunity.

John Lewis’ book, ‘A.T. Still, from Dry Bones to the Living Man’ is one of the most influential books to read from front to back and back to front.  The more Dr. Still understood about the human body, the more he could help people.  In his time, medicine could kill as well as addict those who were prescribed a remedy.  He wanted to pass along his knowledge.  All were welcome to attend his school, women and men, lay people and professionally trained medical people alike.  Those who could pay tuition and those who could not pay were also welcomed.  One requirement:  a passion to help others find health.

Dr. Still, M.D. indicated working with Fascia is working with the branch offices of the Brain.

Requirements for course:
