How to Listen to Fascia and Hear What it Needs

N.B. This is an early morning workshop option that may be chosen instead of an early morning exercise session.  Times:  7.30 – 9.30 a.m.

Come and join us to explore how, when working with fascia, less is very often a lot more. We will introduce the very light touch we use in CranioSacral Therapy to show you just how much can change. Listening to fascial tissue with this light touch allows there to be a ‘conversation’ about what the fascia wants and needs to do rather than a more didactic approach to what we think it ought to do. We will see how our own hands and nervous system enables us to tune in and listen to fascia and how we can hear what it has to say about how it can best let go of tension, restriction, constriction. Whatever it may think would be helpful for it!

Caroline Barrow has been involved in complementary medicine for over 20 years, initially a shiatsu practitioner, now also a Diplomate qualified Upledger CST practitioner and experienced in Visceral Manipulation. She has two BScs – one in Psychology and one in Biomedical Science. She has run the College of Body Science for the last 16 years developing and presenting a variety of advanced anatomy and physiology workshops that are specialised for CAM practitioners, gaining extensive experience in teaching, communicating and in making tricky subjects accessible, engaging and fun. She has been running the Upledger Institute UK for the last 7 years and is keen to promote the unique aspects and benefits of this gentle yet powerful therapy, especially as it can be so easily incorporated into many other types of bodywork.
